TREATS is a small wooden box in the Outer Sunset
where people can leave something special for someone else to find,
and / or take something special that someone else has left.
TREATS are for everyone. TREATS are free.
I constructed TREATS from scratch,
and put it in front of my house in April of 2023.
It was an experiment —
I wasn’t sure how, or if, people would engage —
but it has turned into the coolest project
I could ever hope to be a part of.
So many people have been so generous
with their creativity and unique creations.
Kids contribute. Adults contribute.
I’m surprised and delighted every time
TREATS fills up, and every time it empties out.
It’s really freaking fun. I love it.
